Short Biography

Caty Sikelianos-Carter is a New York licensed (LCAT) and nationally board-certified (ATR-BC) Creative Arts Therapist, as well as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in Vermont. As a gender-affirming therapist whose practice is grounded in social justice, she specializes in working with queer and trans clients of all ages and has extensive experience with children and teens.

Therapy Philosophy

To provide individualized care, Caty integrates elements of DBT, CBT, Jungian psychology, and solution-focused interventions with mindfulness skills and play therapy. At the core of her work are authenticity, dignity, and respect. She aims to offer a space where clients feel seen without needing to defend themselves, challenged without being judged, and supported in building an authentic life.

Special Training & Certifications

Caty believes therapy is not about “fixing” who you are, but about creating space to understand yourself more fully, build resilience, and move toward the life you want. She collaborates closely with her clients to address their unique goals and needs. Whether you are seeking support for imposter syndrome, exhaustion, anxiety, identity exploration, minority stress, or navigating social or medical transitions, Caty provides a space to listen, encourage, and validate your choices.
